HEALTH
For the safety of our other clients, please do not bring an animal that has any type of contagious skin issue, disease, fungus, or worms. If a problem is identified, we will ask that you pick up your pet immediately and pay for the portion of grooming that was completed. If you have a concern please speak with your veterinarian.
FLEA FREE POLICY
It is sometimes difficult for the groomer to tell if fleas are present until the grooming process has begun. Therefore, is very important to say if you think your pet may have fleas before you come to your appointment. If your dog has fleas please cancel their appointment (24 hours in advance to avoid a late cancellation fee) until a time that you have addressed the issue with your vet and they are flea free. If fleas are found during the groom a $25 fee will be added to your bill for the extra time and expense needed to sanitise the studio. You will be contacted immediately so there will be no surprises on your bill. Dogs that come in with fleas must be picked up immediately! The best treatment is prevention! Please talk to your vet for options!
***Please remember this is not only where I work but where I live.***
DEMATTING
Pets groomed on a regular basis adjust and cooperate to the routine. Matting occurs from lack of grooming, coat overgrowth, not routinely being brushed or a coat not being combed through prior to getting wet. Additional fees apply for de-matting a pet. When matting is severe and/or close to the skin the only humane way to remove the mats is to clip the coat off to the skin line. In some cases where the matting is not severe and only covers a small area, we can remove them by splitting, thinning and then brushing them out. Severe matting will be clipped to length needed to ensure your pets comfort! We are not responsible for heath conditions that may be revealed by removing a matted coat such as sores, etc.
BEHAVIOR
Jen's Dog Grooming will refuse grooming if there is evidence of behaviour that may be considered dangerous to the health and safety of your dog, other dogs in my care or myself. If your dog does have an incident that is deemed unacceptable I reserve the right to stop the grooming process and you will be charged accordingly. Your pet must be picked up immediately in these cases!
INJURIES
There is always the possibility of cuts, nicks, or burns during the grooming process. Some pets are harder to handle than others and accidents can occur. We will always do an inspection of your pet upon arrival and in the bathtub. You will be notified immediately if anything is found. Should any cuts occur during the grooming process, we will notify you and advise on whether vet care is required at my expense. Injury due to the condition of the dog or cats matting is NOT the responsibility of the groomer and any vet costs due to these are at the expense of the client.
SATISFACTION
I will work to give your pet the cut that you want, however, keep in mind that your pets comfort and health are always my number one priority. I take notes and pictures of each groom, if there is something you want to change please let me know. If there are specific styles or a picture you have seen, you wish to try, send it to me!
I will alway strive for your satisfaction and to ensure your pet has a happy groom!
